Independent construction, property and management consultancy Rider Levett Bucknall (RLB UK) announces that Lucia Glynn has joined the business as a Partner in its National Schools and Academies team.

With extensive specialist experience in education, Lucia has led the delivery of major construction strategy projects in both the public and private sector. This includes a number of senior roles including Programme Manager with Oasis Community Learning, one of the UK’s largest national multi-academy trusts, where she was part of the team that grew the Trust from 10 to over 40 schools and a Project Director to the Department for Education’s flagship Free School Programme, while on secondment with Arcadis.

Lucia joins RLB from BMAT Education, a 12 school multi-academy trust based in Essex where she was Director of Operations and Programmes, overseeing the Trust’s estates and facilities, capital projects and strategic projects. Lucia extends her professional knowledge and expertise in a voluntary capacity as a governor of a Local Authority School for the Deaf focusing on finance and resource management.

Commenting on the appointment, Steve Reynolds, RLB Partner and Schools and Academies Lead, said:

“At RLB we understand the challenges and issues that those working in the education sector are facing every day from budget pressures to managing energy efficiency to meeting decarbonisation targets. We are delighted to be welcoming Lucia to RLB. Her breadth of experience and expertise will be a fantastic addition to the team and for our clients, providing a true differentiator in the market and supporting our strategic vision on our journey to our 2030 growth target.”

Lucia Glynn added:

“RLB has a fantastic track record in supporting schools. I am really looking forward to developing the work with the Schools and Academies team and growing the commercial success and profile of the business over the coming years.”
