Wales & West Housing Group (WWHG), a significant social housing provider in Wales, has appointed independent property, construction and management consultancy, Rider Levett Bucknall UK (RLB) to help support its ambitious housing development programme.

RLB will provide Employer’s Agent Services on an innovative long-term partnership basis as part of a 10-year contract. WWHG has an active development programme for new homes, with an ambition to build 500 new homes per annum.

The new contract has a value of up to around £5m over its duration. RLB has been appointed as consultant partner onto both the North Wales and South Wales lots along with Aecom; Ivor Russell Partnership and Blake Morgan have been appointed to the third lot, West Wales.

Richard Quarry, Partner and Head of Affordable Housing at RLB UK, said: “With WWH’s aim of delivering a much needed new affordable homes programme across Wales focused on both quality  housing and value for money, this is a fantastic appointment for the RLB team. We are very pleased to be supporting this collaborative long-term partnership which puts quality and sustainability at the very core of delivering affordable homes.”

At WWH we are building more homes than we have ever done this century. To support this, it was important for us to create a long-term partnership with consultants to create an environment where learning and knowledge is shared to ensure continuous improvement to benefit the design, quality, delivery, efficiency and cost of our new homes.  The service and collaborative ethos demonstrated by the RLB team mirrors this approach and we are looking forward to working with them.
