Develop a decarbonisation roadmap
Using sustainability-oriented surveys, we can evaluate baseline energy consumption and efficiency of building fabric and services to develop your roadmap for decarbonisation. This analysis can be progressed into feasibility studies with modelled energy reductions based on detailed designs. This will allow you to compare current energy usage against calculated and potential energy consumption if energy efficiency works are undertaken.
Achieve your retrofitting goals
The whole life cycle assessment and coordination of the best energy-efficient solutions is essential, whether your estate comprises domestic dwelling properties or large non-domestic buildings. Our experts can support the planning and execution of your retrofitting goals in compliance with PAS 2038 best-practice guidance for non-domestic estates and PAS 2035 for the domestic retrofit market.
Create an efficient estate strategy
It is imperative that your decarbonisation roadmap is integrated across your estate to achieve economies of scale, minimise disruption and achieve long-term sustainability objectives. Our experts will incorporate recommended decarbonisation interventions, coordinating these works with the backlog maintenance and capital expenditure recommended works, allowing you to create an efficient estate strategy over a five to 10-year period.
Finance your decarbonisation journey
Financing decarbonisation interventions is often complex and time-consuming. Understanding and accessing what funding solutions are available, now and in the future, is essential for both public and private sector organisations to achieve their goals. We can support you with your technical reporting and justification requirements, from inception to completion of financing options.

CAMBRIDGESHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL – HEAT DECARBONISATION STRATEGY
Bespoke solutions to reduce emissions
Cambridgeshire County Council (CCC) is committed to become fossil fuel free by 2025 and achieve net zero by 2050 as part of its climate change and environment strategy. RLB was appointed to develop heat decarbonisation plans for 22 council-owned properties across Cambridgeshire, which included corporate offices, children and family centres, libraries and community centres.
“Cambridgeshire County Council were impressed with RLB’s professionalism and management of this project, which included regular progress meetings with accompanying data. RLB was also receptive to our requests and feedback, and able to provide further supplementary analysis after the heat decarbonisation plans had been submitted.”
